Penalties[]

Some Gonzo classes have Penalties, class features labelled as (Pn) where you might see (Ex) for Extraordinary or (Su) for Supernatural. These features are intrinsically negative, usually as balancing points against more powerful class features found within the class.

Acupuncturist: The gentle art of acupuncture, when weaponized, can become a deadly art. This art demands little in the way of brawn- instead requiring a careful academic study of the body. Acupuncturist are as physicians, curing many ills while still inflicting maximum accuracy with their attacks. They can strike with the speed of a cobra and the precision of a scalpel.

Architect: An architect is a master of converting natural resources into freestanding magical structures capable of attacking enemies and blocking their movement. An architect does not see the world as you or I do; where you see a tree he sees material for an enchanted crossbow tower, where you see a pond he sees the basis for an automated frost cannon.

Atomic Adept: The splitting of the atom is a test by which the might of nations is judged. Magical practitioners who have learned to manipulate nuclear energy are known as atomic adepts and they are feared for their mastery of such a verboten power. Atomic energy is a cruel mistress, powerful and seductive but deadly to those who court her.

Barb: Spare the rod and spoil the holy man. A barb is a divine goad: a secret sliver in the hand of the righteous that drives them to action, the wasp’s sting of god that compels the just to their calling. They taunt and curse, howl and blaspheme, test and condemn; it is their work on earth to make life difficult for the virtuous so that good people see the light within themselves.

Battle Butler: Battle butlers are not born- they are trained. Battle butlers are disciplined and shaped into cunning killers who hide their faces behind the calm veneer of a pleasing high-class servant. They are the perfect blend of civility and brutality, never losing their disciplined demeanor and gentlemanly (or lady-like) ways even while butchering a thief. They are the kind of unique soul who could behead a man on command and make an excellent red wine pairing suggestion for your filet mignon at the same time (a Cabernet Sauvignon, of course).
