Long strips of runed cloth wrap themselves around your wrists, springing forth at your command to form a portal that connects two destinations.

Shaping this veil allows you to form a portal between two destinations. As a standard action, you can create a 5-foot diameter portal in an adjacent square, and a second connected portal within Close range (25 feet + 5 feet per two veilweaving levels). You must be able to see the locations you are opening the portals. You can take 2 or more points of essence burn when creating these portals. For every 2 points of essence burn you take, you may create an additional connected portal within Close range of you. These portals persist for as long as you concentrate (as per concentrating on a spell), plus one round after your concentration is broken. You cannot rest or meditate while concentrating in this way.

A creature who steps into a portal’s space can choose to exit into any space of a connected portal, teleporting the distance between them. When a creature enters the portal’s space, they can sense the distance and direction of all connected portals before choosing which they wish to teleport to. A creature cannot teleport to a connected portal if its spaces are blocked. A creature must be able to fit within the portal’s spaces to travel through it (a Medium or smaller creature for a 5-foot diameter portal, Large or smaller for a 10-foot diameter portal, and so on).

If a creature is dragging or pulling an object, they can choose for that object to teleport with them if the creature and those objects can fit within the portal's spaces simultaneously. If a carried, dragged or pulled object contains or carries creatures, those creatures are teleported alongside the creature dragging or carrying the object (such as a horse pulling a cart loaded with people through a portal). The same applies to a ride of a mount who travels through the portal. If a creature is grappling or otherwise retraining another creature and teleports using a portal, they may teleport the grappled or restrained creature as well if both creatures fit within the portal’s spaces simultaneously.

An animal can be pushed to use the portal with a DC 25 Handle Animal check, or can be taught to use the portal as a trick with a DC of 15.

Essence: For each point of essence invested in this veil, you treat your veilweaver level as two higher for the purposes of determining the range at which you can place the connected portal. For every 2 points of essence invested, the maximum size of the portal you can create increases by 5 feet in diameter. You cannot reallocate essence invested in this veil while you have an active portal created by this veil. If the essence invested in this veil is burned while you have an active portal, your active portals are dismissed.

Chakra Bind (Wrists): [Hu8, L10/12, N8, P8, St8, Vi8] Binding this veil to your Wrists chakra allows you to create connected portals within Medium range (100 feet + 10 feet per veilweaver level) instead of Close range by increasing the time to create them to a full-round action.

Additionally, you no longer need line of sight to create a portal. Portals can be created exactly in the spot you desire – whether by simply visualizing the area or by stating direction. To create a portal in a specific area, you must have seen the area at least once.

Chakra Bind (Neck): [Hu14, L14/16, N14, P14, St16, Vi14, Vo14] Binding this veil to your Neck chakra grants you all the benefits of binding it to your Wrists chakra, and allows you to open portals at much larger distances. You can now create connected portals within a range of 10 miles per veilweaver level by spending 1 minute in meditation. When creating portals at such vast distances you cannot simply specify a direction, you must have seen or visited the destination of the portal at least once.
