Shadowed Veilweaving[]
At 1st level, the shadowveil gains the Veilweaving sphere and Eclipse’s Tradition as bonus talents and uses their class level as their caster level with the Veilweaving sphere. This stacks with caster levels gained from other sources. This replaces the wraith’s haunt path class feature.
Possessive Darkness (Su):[]
At 2nd level, the shadowveil gains the ability to shape the Pooling Black veil using their Veilweaving sphere. This veil does not count against their veils shaped, or the slot it is shaped in. The shadowveil can actively possess the pool of darkness this veil produces, treating it as a creature with a CR equal to their veilweaving level when determining its duration.
While actively possessing their pool of darkness, the pool flatens to form a 1-inch-high puddle of blackness upon all surfaces within the aura’s area but otherwise retains its normal effects. The shadowveil treats every 5-foot-space covered by this puddle as their space, they can enter the spaces of other creatures, their movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity, they lose any fly speed they possess, they gain a climb speed equal to their base movement speed, they gain blindsight within their space, and their reach becomes 0 feet. They cannot increase this reach, but may make melee attacks against any creature within 5 feet of the ground within the area of their pool of darkness. When moving, the shadowveil treats the center of this pool as their current space, and the aura produced by their Pooling Black moves along with them.
While possessed, instead of using the normal rules for sundering their Pooling Black the pool it produces instead has a number of hit points equal to 5 times the shadowveil’s veilweaving modifier and hardness equal to their veilweaving modifier. For each point of essence invested in their Pooling Black, it gains 5 temporary hit points while possessed. If lost, these temporary hit points recover at a rate of 1 temporary hit point per round. If it is reduced to zero hit points, the veil is immediately suppressed for 1d4 rounds and the shadowveil’s possession ends.
One With Darkness (Su):[]
At 4th level, the shadowveil treats their Pooling Black as if it were bound to their Feet chakra, even if they do not normally have the ability to bind veils to that slot. In addition, they gain an insight bonus equal to half their class level on Stealth checks. While possessing their Pooling Black, this bonus is instead an untyped bonus.
Lingering Darkness (Su):[]
At 8th level, when the shadowveil actively possesses their Pooling Black the duration of the possession increases to 10 minutes/level.
Resisting Darkness (Su)[]
At 14th level, while the shadowveil is possessing their Pooling Black they can switch freely between their base form and the form of their pooling black. Switching back and forth is done as a move action. While in their base form, their Pooling Black retains the HP pool it normally has while possessed (and recovers any lost temporary HP while invested with essence, as normal), but is treated as a normal veil when being sundered or attacked rather than using that HP pool. When the shadowveil switches back to their possessed form, it uses the previous HP pool.
