Greater Compatibility Optional Rule[]
When a character selects both a practitioning archetype and a compatible sphere-casting-conversion archetype for an akashic class (such as Sphere Nexus, Sphere Eclipse, or Sphere Rajah), they may combine their magic and combat talent tracks into a single track of blended training talents, gaining their choice of 1 combat or magic talent at each class level. A character using these optional rules uses the practitioner modifier of their practitioning archetype as their practitioner modifier. If such a character’s total number of combat or magic talents granted by their tracks would add up to more than 20 talents, they gain additional bonus talents as per the table below:
| Total Combined Talents | Bonus Talents |
|---|---|
| 20 Talents | - |
| 25 Talents | 1 bonus combat or magic talent at 4th level, and every 4 levels thereafter |
| 30 Talents | 1 bonus combat or magic talent at 2nd level, and every 2 levels thereafter |
For example; a nexus with both the convergent blade and sphere nexus archetypes would treat their Charisma as their practitioner modifier, gain 1 combat or magic talent at each class level, and gain 1 bonus combat or magic talent at 4th level, and every 4 levels thereafter. As another example; a rajah with both the kshatriya and sphere rajah archetypes would treat their Charisma as their practitioner modifier, gain 1 combat or magic talent at each class level, and gain 1 bonus combat or magic talent at 2nd level, and every 2 levels thereafter.
Altered Mystic Combats[]
Imbued Weapon (Su)[]
When the mageknight uses this ability on a weapon produced by a veil, that weapon remains charged even when dismissed and resummoned for the duration of the ability. An imbued melee weapon produced by the veil can be thrown, despite the normal restrictions on veils that produce melee weapons. When thrown, the weapon reappears in the mageknight’s hand after the attack is resolved.
New Feats[]
Essence Admixture (Admixture)[]
Prerequisites: Destruction sphere (Admixture), Veilweaving sphere.
Benefit: When using Admixture, you may spend an additional spell point to have a single creature that takes damage be targeted by an essence talent effect that you possess. If you possess the Mass Essence talent, you may apply the essence effect to any targets damaged, up to your maximum targets from Mass Essence. This ability can only target creatures, it cannot be used to affect objects.
Altered Feats[]
Flow of Battle (Akashic, Combat)[]
Your power shifts as you prepare to strike.
Benefit: Whenever you use a combat sphere ability as a swift action, initiate a maneuver as swift action, or enter a stance as a swift action, you may reallocate your essence as part of the action taken to do so. You gain 1 point of essence.
Special: If you possess the Clashing EssenceDP:R feat, then you may reallocate your essence as though you had used Clashing Essence whenever you use a combat sphere ability as an immediate action or initiate a maneuver as a swift action.
