Combat Training[]

Veilsmiths are only considered to be Proficient practitioners, gaining a combat talent at 2nd level and every 2 levels thereafter. They use their choice of their Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma as their practitioner modifier, rather than their Constitution.

This modifies the blacksmith’s combat training class feature and replaces their normal combat talent progression.

Veilsmithing[]

The veilsmith has learned to forge equipment formed of pure magical energy known as veils for themselves and their allies to wield. They treat every (Enhanced [armor]), (Enhanced [shield]) and (Enhanced [weapon]) veil from the Daevic, Kheshig, and Stormbound veil lists as their veil list for this ability. The veilsmith uses their practitioner modifier as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the veilsmith’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the veilsmith’s veilweaving modifier.

At 1st level, the veil tinker gains access to a pool of essence which can be invested into their veils and other essence receptacles to increase their power. The veilsmith gains 1 point of essence at each class level.

At 1st level, the veilsmith can shape two veils with the [Enhanced] descriptor each day. They can shape an additional veil with the [Enhanced] descriptor each day at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level.

Bestower of Veils[]

Whenever the veilsmith shapes a veil with the (Enhanced [armor]), (Enhanced [shield]) and (Enhanced [weapon]) veil from the Daevic, Kheshig, and Stormbound, they may grant it the [Title] descriptor, allowing them to shape it on their allies. If one of these veils could be shaped to multiple chakra slots, the veilsmith chooses which it is treated as being shaped in when they shape it. If the veilsmith could bind veils to the chosen slot, the veil is treated as being bound to that slot as well.

This replaces the blacksmith’s equipment specialist class feature.

Akashic Fortification (Su)[]

The veilsmith has learned to fortify their allies’ mundane equipment with akasha, enhancing it with magical power and amplifying their natural abilities. When the veilsmith shapes they veils each day, they can imbue the equipment of a number of allies equal to 1 + their practitioner modifier (minimum 1) and grant them the effects of one of the blacksmith’s maintenances for 24 hours or until the veilsmith rests and shapes they veils again, whichever comes first (the veilsmith counts as their own ally). The veilsmith may select a different akashic fortification for each ally they affect with this ability.

Much like their [Title] veils, these akashic fortifications are directly tied to the veilsmith’s essence, and are considered to be supernatural effects, rather than extraordinary effects. If an allies moves farther than Close range of the veilsmith the akashic fortification is suppressed and the ally loses the benefits of all of their akashic fortifications at the end of the veilsmith’s next turn (or the veilsmith’s current turn, if the veilsmith moves out of range of an ally on their turn). If an ally returns to within this range they immediately regain the benefits of their akashic fortifications. Much like with their [Title] veils, the veilsmith can pinpoint the location of their fortified allies as long as the akashic fortification is not suppressed. If it is, the veilsmith can only gain vague information about the fortified creature’s location and direction, as long as they are on the same plane.

This modifies the blacksmith’s maintenance class feature.

Chakra Binds[]

At 2nd level, 4th level, and every 4 levels thereafter the veilsmith gains the ability to bind veils to their chakra slots in the following order: Hands, Feet, Wrists, Shoulders, Belt, Chest.

Veilsmith’s Masterpiece[]

At 20th level, the veilsmith has reached the pinnacle of their craft. Throughout their career, the veilsmith has collected and hoarded special materials, crafting secrets, and scraps of ancient rituals, all in preparation for their life’s ultimate work. The blacksmith chooses one of their [Enhanced] veils: that veil gains a +5 enhancement bonus, and the veilsmith may choose up to +8 effective enhancement bonus’ worth of special abilities to apply to the veil; once chosen, these enhancements cannot be changed. This ability supersedes the normal restriction preventing equipment from exceeding a total enhancement bonus of +10 including class abilities. If the veilsmith chooses to enhance a veil which they have already enhanced, they can choose to move the enhancements on that veil to another of their choice, or to regain an amount of gold pieces equal to crafting cost of the veil’s enhancements.

This replaces the blacksmith’s masterpiece class feature.
